The town
Why Torremolinos matters
If you are visiting, it is worth knowing where you are standing. Torremolinos did not become the gay capital of the coast by accident.
In the 1960s, while the rest of Spain lived under Franco, Torremolinos was something else. Foreign tourism brought money, and with the money came a tolerance that existed nowhere else in the country. Artists, writers and bohemians settled here.
The heart of it was Pasaje Begoña, a small pedestrian passage packed with bars where, for the first time, people could dance and talk and live with some freedom. It is remembered as the birthplace of the Spanish LGBT movement.
In the summer of 1971 the police moved in and arrested dozens of people. The bars closed, and many lost the life they had built here overnight. Today there is a monument in the passage, and that night is remembered every year.
The scene came back after Franco died, and today it centres on La Nogalera, with Pride in June and an atmosphere that still draws men from across Europe. When you walk those streets, you are walking through something that was hard won.

Before you book
Do you come to hotels in Torremolinos?
No. I work only in my own room in Mijas. It lets me control the setting, the temperature, the table and the quiet, and that makes a real difference to the treatment.
How much is a taxi from Torremolinos?
It depends on traffic and the time of day, but count on around 25 minutes of driving. Uber and Bolt also work in the area and are usually a little cheaper.
Can I book the same day?
Often yes, but message me on WhatsApp in good time. In high season the slots fill up, and it lets you sort out the ride without stress.
I am coming on my own. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Most men come alone. We start with a short conversation to clarify what you are after and where your boundaries are.
